Over 18 years ago, Jacob’s Rehabilitation Farm Center (JRFC) began with a simple but unique vision. A small group of men came together not to follow the traditional path of agriculture, but to try something new: raising tilapia fish. What started as a humble initiative with only a few men would eventually grow into something far greater than they ever imagined.

 

In the early days, the group worked tirelessly to build a farm from the savannah land. The journey was not easy. There were many challenges, disappointments, and moments of uncertainty. Some members became discouraged and left the project, but a faithful few continued holding onto the vision and trusting God’s direction.

 

Out of the original group, only three remained committed to the mission. At the time, they believed they were simply becoming fishermen, but God was preparing them to become fishers of men.

 

The vision for Jacob’s Farm was inspired by the experiences of two men who attended a treatment center in Chetumal, Mexico, including the brother of founder Ismael Vallejos. Their experience planted the dream of helping others overcome addiction and hopelessness. After the tragic passing of his brother, Ismael chose to continue that dream by creating a place where men could find healing, restoration, and renewed hope through faith and support.

 

That is how Jacob’s Rehabilitation Farm Center was born.

From the very beginning, JRFC became more than just a farm. It became a place of prayer, spiritual fellowship, healing, and transformation. The mission shifted from simply raising fish to restoring lives through faith, guidance, discipline, and community support.

 

The name “Jacob’s” comes from the powerful biblical story of Jacob, a man who wrestled through struggles and imperfections but was ultimately transformed by God. In the same way, JRFC was built on the belief that every man, regardless of his past, has the potential for change, healing, and a renewed purpose.

 

Throughout the years, the farm has continued to grow with the addition of buildings, crops, animals, programs, and ministry opportunities. Most importantly, lives have been transformed. Many men who once arrived broken and hopeless have returned to their families and communities as restored, productive, and faith filled individuals.

 

Just like Jacob, many arrive at JRFC carrying struggles and burdens from their past.

 

But through faith, perseverance, guidance, and the love of Christ, they leave transformed, with renewed purpose, restored identity, and hope for a new beginning.
